Intergenerational Matinee

Each year, over 10,000 students and seniors visit The Black Rep for our thought-provoking Intergenerational Matinees. 

Intergenerational Matinees 

were uniquely designed to allow schools and other local organizations  to experience live theatre performances and participate in post-show discussions, at an affordable rate.

Intergenerational Matinees are available the second Wednesday of every production at 10 am and are held at the Edison Theatre or the A. E. Hotchner Studio Theatre at Washington University in St. Louis.

The Next Scheduled Matinee:



All student tickets are $15.

Individual Adult Tickets are $20.

For every 15 students, one faculty /chaperone is admitted free.

The Black Rep is happy to provide a complimentary ticket for all bus drivers.

Post Show Discussion 

All Matinees feature a post-show conversation between the audience and members of the cast and artistic staff.

Audience members can ask questions they might have about the production, actors, or even life in the theatre.



In order to reserve your seats, a deposit must be received within 48 hours of the date of the production. 

The following Payment types are accepted:

Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American  Express, or check payable to The Black Rep.
